Do you recognize yourself?
You can love someone—and they can love you right back. You can love them for no reason at all, or for every reason imaginable. But here’s the thing: love doesn’t always equal alignment. You can stare someone in the eyes, mean it when you say “I love you,” and still think, I don’t recognize who I am anymore.
And that… is where the connection becomes a disconnection.
Loving Someone Shouldn’t Mean Losing Yourself
There’s a big difference between doing things out of love and doing things that drain your spirit. Ask yourself: Is what I’m doing for them the same thing I’d do for anyone I truly love? Would I do this for me?
Sometimes we give so much that we forget we’re not supposed to become a chore to ourselves. If you’re losing your light just to keep a relationship alive, that’s not a soul connection. That’s sacrifice in disguise.
What Does a Soul Connection Actually Feel Like?
It’s not about how much you love them or how amazing they are on paper. It’s about how you feel in your body, your energy, your soul. It’s about who you become when you’re with them.
The right connection doesn’t drain you—it activates you. It doesn’t ask you to shrink—it invites you to expand.
You don’t question your worth, your path, or your peace. You feel more you. You feel recognized. Safe. Seen.
It’s Okay to Let Go of Something That Once Felt Right
Some relationships aren’t meant to last forever—and that’s okay. You can love someone deeply and still know it’s time to walk away. Maybe even before the engagement, or the marriage, or the kids.
We hold onto relationships out of comfort, time invested, or fear of starting over. But staying in something just because it’s been a while isn’t love—it’s settling.
The Engagement Wake-Up Call
Here’s something I’ve noticed: when I ask divorced couples if they knew, deep down, that it would end in divorce… the answer is usually yes.
Not always loud, not always clear. But it was there. They got engaged because it was time. Because they’d already invested years. Because they were afraid no one better would come along.
And yet, when I talk to couples who aren’t engaged, I hear things like, “I really hope we get married.” It’s hope. But the moment that ring comes out and someone says yes—something shifts. Reality sets in. And suddenly, some people start thinking: Wait, is this going to get better? What did I just say yes to?
You see, it’s easy to say anything—we can tell ourselves whatever we want, even if it’s not entirely true. But the moment words turn into action, that’s when everything shifts. That’s when something inside you gets triggered. Suddenly, your body responds—nerves, anxiety, unease—it all shows up, because now it’s real.
This Isn’t for Everyone
Let me be clear: this blog isn’t for everyone. Not everyone will relate. But I know there are people out there—maybe you—who think deeply. Who are questioning their life, their love, their identity.
If you’re one of those people, keep reading. This is for you.
Ask Yourself: Do I Like Who I Am Right Now?
Whether you’re single, dating, engaged, married—this question still matters.
Do you like how you feel? Do you love who you are around them? Do you feel like yourself?
Because yes, we can love anyone. But soul connections mirror you back to you.
And sometimes, it takes meeting someone completely unexpected to realize you’ve been asleep for a long time.
What Happens When You Meet a Soul Person
You might be in a perfectly fine relationship, maybe even happy. And then, out of nowhere, you meet someone else—and something inside you wakes up. It’s not just attraction. It’s energy. It’s a shift. It’s your soul saying, Oh hey, there you are.
You might never even act on it. But the connection will live inside you. You’ll think of them. You’ll wonder. You’ll circle back.
Not because of desire. But because your soul was activated. And that’s not something you can forget.
The Pressure of Labels
We’re living in a time of labels. And while that’s empowering for some, it can also be intimidating—especially when you’re questioning your identity or your sexuality.
I myself am gay, and I’ve watched many of my friends slowly open up and get more comfortable in their own bodies. Somewhere down the line, I’ve also seen friends date someone of the same gender—and then return to dating the opposite gender. It’s not about labeling their sexuality or accusing them of being confused. Actually, quite the opposite. I think it’s beautiful.
They followed what their soul wanted. They honored who they were attracted to, regardless of gender. And isn’t that the whole point of love? You don’t always know how or when it will come. Sometimes it arrives in the most unexpected way.
We’re living through a time where more men and women are becoming comfortable in their own skin—and doing as they please. Good for them. I see people shedding the “norm” and following what feels right for them—not for their family, not for society. Letting go of the fear of being judged and instead, leaning into the feeling of just being.
Most people who judge you are likely people living a life in fear of being judged. Is that how you want to live?I’ve personally witnessed some friends who, by simply taking a chance on someone of the same sex, created a beautiful life together. A home. A family. A love that’s steady and full. Can you imagine if they hadn’t followed their instincts? If they’d let fear win? It’s absolutely amazing when you see those couples and think—Wow. You two are incredible.

It’s Not About Gay or Straight—It’s About Energy
This isn’t a blog about being gay or straight. This is about allowing yourself to feel things—soul-level things—without forcing yourself into a category.
You might meet someone who’s the same gender as you, and the connection might rock your world. That doesn’t mean you have to suddenly declare a new label.
You’re not confused. You’re not boxed in. You’re just feeling something real. And if it doesn’t work out? That doesn’t mean you made a mistake. It just means it didn’t work out. Simple.
Nothing Means What It Used To—And That’s a Good Thing
We’re evolving. The world is evolving.
Gender roles? Evolving. Relationships? Evolving. How we work, live, love—everything is shifting. And it’s about time.
We weren’t taught to create our own path. We were taught to follow one. But that’s changing too.
We’re learning how to choose ourselves. To feel things deeply. To recognize our soul when it speaks—and to listen.
Final Thoughts: This Is Soul Work
The truth is, once you’ve met someone who activates your soul, you can’t un-meet them. You can’t un-feel what they made you feel.
You might not be able to explain it. You might not end up together. But that connection will live inside you. Because it was never about what your heart wanted. Or even what your mind believed.
It was your soul waking up.
And from that point forward—nothing will ever be the same again.
