How Uranus in Taurus Shook — and Reshaped — My Life

A seven-year reflection on family, survival mode, self-worth, spiritual awakening, and finding freedom through collapse.

Uranus, the planet of sudden change, awakening, disruption, and liberation, has been moving through Taurus since 2018.

For me, these past seven years brought nothing short of a complete life transformation — emotionally, financially, professionally, spiritually, and physically.

I lost my mother.
I let go of a career.
I became financially stuck for the first time in my life.
I ended cycles tied deeply to my old identity.
I began an intuitive and creative path.
I sold my first home.
I fell apart.
And somehow, through all of it, I became whole again.

Now, as Uranus prepares to shift into Gemini — my Sun sign — I can finally look back and say:

This was not destruction.
This was a rebirth.

URANUS IN TAURUS

May 2018 – July 2025

Uranus is the planet of awakening, sudden change, freedom, and divine disruption.

Taurus rules stability, material security, comfort, values, the body, routine, and the physical world.

Taurus does not like change.

But Uranus forces it.

It shakes loose everything we cling to out of comfort, fear, identity, or survival.

And for many people, this transit was not subtle.

1. Radical Shifts in Self-Worth + Finances

Taurus rules money, possessions, and security.

Uranus came in and dismantled my relationship to all three.

For the first time in my life, I experienced financial stagnation. It was not necessarily debt — it was the feeling of being stuck. Money I had lent to my father was never returned. Pending commission payouts were delayed as the housing market slowed. Closings were postponed. Income became uncertain overnight.

At the same time, I owned an income-generating property in downtown Toronto that rented for premium value. I had access to multiple family homes and properties.

Yet after my mother’s passing and the breakdown of my relationship with my father, I no longer wanted any of it.

That was the shocking part.

For twenty years, I believed I could never live without those homes, those properties, or the lifestyle attached to them. Then suddenly, after enough restless nights and emotional exhaustion, I realized I no longer wanted any of it.

Not if keeping it meant remaining emotionally tied to dysfunction.

Not if it meant tolerating narcissistic behavior in exchange for material comfort.

That realization changed everything.

2. Grief, Family Upheaval + Emotional Root Disruption

Taurus also rules safety, comfort, grounding, and maternal energy.

Losing my mother during this transit felt like the deepest kind of emotional earthquake.

But her passing also revealed truths I had spent years trying to explain to other people.

For years, I tried convincing my mother to leave my father. After she passed away, I suddenly found myself in her position — emotionally overwhelmed, grieving, trying to hold the family together, while simultaneously experiencing the same manipulation she had lived through.

And for a brief moment, I fell into it too.

That was one of the hardest realizations of my life.

I went from being the “spoiled daughter” with multiple family homes, a cottage by the lake, an apartment in Italy, and the comfort of generational stability…

…to realizing that keeping those things would require me to keep participating in relationships that no longer aligned with who I was becoming.

And I could not do it anymore.

So I sold my home.

I left Toronto.

And I moved to Montreal with no real plan, no guaranteed income, and no certainty — only instinct.

For the first time in my life, I chose myself over security.

3. Awakening Through the Body + the Nervous System

Uranus in Taurus awakens us through the body.

Not the mind.
The body.

This transit forced me to pay attention to my nervous system, my habits, my coping mechanisms, and the ways I was overriding my intuition.

I quit smoking.
I stopped drinking.
I let go of distractions.
I began writing, running, reflecting, and listening.

Little by little, my thoughts became clearer.
Direction became instinctual.

I started realizing how many of my behaviors were rooted in nervous-system chaos:
over-communicating,
complaining,
seeking reassurance,
staying distracted,
reaching for substances,
filling silence with noise.

And every time I drank, smoked, or entertained conversations that drained me, my body responded the same way:

Stop.

Why are you doing this?

I realized I had spent years drowning out my own intuition by constantly absorbing everyone else’s thoughts, emotions, and expectations.

I could no longer tell the difference between my own voice and the noise surrounding me.

So I began removing the noise.

4. Career Collapse → Soul Calling

Taurus is ruled by Venus — the planet of value, attraction, beauty, and self-worth.

And during this transit, the career I spent years building slowly stopped feeling aligned.

I went from pitching real estate developments and luxury condo lifestyles…
to writing reflective essays about life, grief, consciousness, identity, spirituality, and human behavior.

At first, I resisted it.

I tried convincing myself to stay in real estate. I continued writing about developers, architecture, and projects because it felt safer than writing about myself.

But eventually, the personal reflections became more interesting than the market itself.

And then something ironic happened.

Right when I was emotionally preparing to walk away from the industry, high-paying opportunities suddenly started appearing. Sales positions. Six-figure offers. The kind of opportunities I once dreamed about ten years earlier.

I sat in those offices listening to people offer me the exact life I thought I wanted…

…and for the first time, I realized I no longer wanted it.

Not if it meant another decade sacrificing myself for external validation, status, or stability.

My intuition immediately said:

“If this is what they think you are worth working for them, imagine what you are worth working for yourself.”

That moment changed my trajectory.

I realized I had spent years helping other people build their visions while ignoring my own.

I wrote about everyone else’s stories except mine.

And eventually I thought:
What would it say about me if I encouraged everyone else to follow their dreams while being too afraid to follow my own?

5. Material Minimalism → Spiritual Richness

Uranus in Taurus stripped away everything external I once relied on for stability.

 My home.
My certainty.
My profession.
My routines.
My old identity.

After going no-contact with my father, he changed the locks on all the family properties. I was no longer allowed access to any of my belongings — not my motorcycle, my paddle board, my tools, my photo albums, or even my mother’s personal items.

It felt like watching your house burn down while being unable to save anything.

Only in my case, the house never burned down.

The family dynamic did.

And strangely enough, I was not angry.

Because for years, I had already seen the patterns no one else wanted to acknowledge.

One thing I have always been able to do is recognize behavioral patterns long before other people see them. Friends used to tell me:
“You always think you’re right.”

But it was never about ego.

It was pattern recognition.

I would always say:
“No. I do not think I am right.
I know I am.”

Not because I am superior — but because I pay attention.

Watching my father throughout my life sharpened that ability in me. It taught me how to observe people, motives, cycles, energy shifts, and emotional behaviors.

And although painful, that awareness eventually became one of my greatest strengths.

Big Picture: What Uranus in Taurus Really Was

A seven-year cosmic earthquake.

One that cleared the soil for a completely different version of me.

For this voice.
For this freedom.
For this next chapter.

Uranus in Taurus taught me that the safest place I will ever find is not in property, money, relationships, or external stability.

It is within myself.

Closing Thought

Uranus in Taurus tore down everything I thought was “me.”

But it was never about destruction.

It was liberation.

Now Uranus moves into Gemini — my Sun sign — and this next chapter feels less about survival and more about expression.

My voice.
My thoughts.
My intelligence.
My truth.
My writing.
My story.

I am no longer the person I was in 2018.

I am the person I became through loss, grief, courage, intuition, and finally learning how to listen to myself.

Maybe that is what awakening really is.

Not becoming someone new — but finally becoming honest about who you were all along.

Maybe Uranus in Taurus was never trying to punish me by taking things away. Maybe it was trying to show me what was never truly mine to carry in the first place.

The homes.
The titles.
The expectations.
The survival patterns.
The identities built to make other people comfortable.

Because once everything external became uncertain, I was finally forced to build a relationship with the one thing that remained:

Myself.

And for the first time in my life, that finally feels like enough.

But now I find myself wondering something else.

What was happening in your life while Uranus was in Taurus between 2018 and 2025?

For me, those were the most dramatic and life-changing years of my life so far.

What did this transit change for you?

The answer will be different for everyone depending on your age, the cycles you were completing, the lessons your soul came here to experience, and the level of awareness you were willing to reach.

But let me ask you something honestly:

Are you still standing in the same place you were back in 2018?

Because at some point in every person’s life, we are all given an opportunity to surrender to change.

To listen to our bodies.
To trust our intuition.
To release the comfort of familiar environments, relationships, identities, and routines that no longer align with who we are becoming.

But not everyone takes the leap.

Some people feel the calling deeply but cannot bring themselves to let go.
Not of the relationship.
Not of the family dynamic.
Not of the home.
Not of the version of themselves they built their entire identity around.

And I understand that too.

Because change is not only emotional.
It is mental.
Physical.
Spiritual.

It feels like standing between two versions of yourself while knowing only one of them can move forward.

But I do believe every soul experiences these moments at some point in life.

The difference is that some people choose the unknown…

…and others spend the rest of their lives wondering who they could have become if they had trusted themselves enough to change.
