Title: The Barbault Basket and the Feminine Shift
Subtitle: On syncing cycles, breaking silence, and why this planetary moment belongs to women
Series: Next Thought
There has been a silent collective energetic shift slowly forming over the past several years — and the moment we are about to enter is no coincidence as to where all this movement has been leading.
For years we have been talking about breaking generational cycles, learning about our inner feminine and masculine energies, awakening to an imbalance we can now recognize — one where traditional patterns have steered us in the wrong direction. And we are about to enter what I would call a turn-of-the-century shift for the collective feminine energy.
Quietly, this past decade, I have seen so many women make the hard decision to leave relationships they no longer felt aligned in. Women who woke up and realized marriage wasn’t for them. Women who turned to their partner and said: I don’t feel like I’m in love with you anymore. I don’t think I ever was. I don’t want to be with you. Quietly, these women chose the fear of the unknown over the comfort of staying. It didn’t matter how old they were — their 30s, 40s, 50s, or older. It didn’t matter how short or long they had been married. One by one they chose themselves. Not only facing the hardship of leaving a partner or breaking apart a family, but also the criticism from their own — and unknown to them, in doing so, they did something their mothers couldn’t do and their grandmothers never had the option to do.
This is likely why so many people have started getting married later in life. Pausing more. Thinking more carefully about what they actually want. Enjoying life a little longer. Learning about themselves and their own identity. Fighting the urge to say they don’t want children but not yet knowing how to say it out loud.
This is the collective feminine energy shift.
When I was in my 20s, I watched my friends get in and out of relationships, and before they were 30 most of them were married or getting there. I have never really been a relationship seeker — I guess I never really tried, to be honest. But I did enjoy paying attention. While most people felt bad that I was single, I was watching other things unfold as I got older. I remember saying to someone once: thank God I never rushed or forced myself to meet someone in my 20s — have you seen how many beautiful single or recently divorced women there are in their 30s? I said that in my 30s. Now I’m in my 40s, and I say the same thing with an addition: have you seen how many beautiful women are dating women? I’m not even a dater myself — I’ve remained single — but I’ve noticed how many women have taken to social media not only to announce their separations or same-sex partnerships, but simply to share their stories. And regardless of what their story was, one by one they were telling it. Which in turn inspired more women to leave, to explore, to grow.
So where are we now?
Here is how I like to explain this shift. If you’ve ever grown up with sisters, or shared a house with female friends, you’ll eventually notice that internally your bodies begin to sync — your cycles align, your rhythms start to mirror each other. Now imagine how many women there are in the world, all with different cycles. The more women you bring under one roof, eventually they all sync up.
This is my version of the Barbault theory — and this is my interpretation of what is happening right now.
While all these women were sharing their stories one by one — facing criticism, hardship, and their own deepest fears — we watched them. We witnessed their transformations. And what social media made possible that no previous generation of women had access to is this: we got to watch someone cross the fear barrier and come out the other side. We got to see the year after the hard decision. Past generations of women had to keep quiet and stay silent. They had no proof that choosing themselves was survivable. These women gave us the proof.
The traditional conditioning many of us were handed from a young age — find a boyfriend, get married, build a family, feel fulfilled — slowly unravelled when women started realizing they had taken their self-worth and exchanged it for a relationship. That they were doing laundry for another grown adult simply because he made money. That a man who doesn’t know how to cook a meal or wash his own clothes in his adult life never grew into a man — he remained a boy who needed a mother. And women felt it. They felt they were worth more. And that feeling, once it starts, does not go back into the box.
Let me be clear — this is not about criticizing men or positioning women against them. This shift will ultimately be as liberating for men as it is for women. For too long, men have not been required to make emotional changes in their lives — because women were conditioned to absorb that gap. Instead of speaking up, women stayed silent. And in that silence, women not only lost their self-worth — they also never allowed the men in their lives to learn discomfort, to grow, to become more. Women gave in because they were conditioned to believe: who would love me if I spoke up? They stayed silent to keep the peace. And the price was an internal accumulation of unhappiness that had nowhere to go.
This is a generational problem, masked in tradition and fear. And it is not women’s fault that it exists. But it is our moment to end it.
For the first time in over a century, the outer planets have all shifted signs simultaneously — moving into new houses, activating new collective themes. Right now, in July 2026, a rare alignment called the Barbault Basket is peaking. Four of the slowest-moving planets in our solar system — Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune — have formed a harmonious geometric configuration in the sky, each sitting at the same degree of their respective signs. André Barbault, the French astrologer who spent his life studying how outer planetary cycles mirror collective history, identified this period as the most significant turning point of the 21st century. Not another crisis — a recovery. A reconstruction. The beginning of something genuinely new.
And what makes this planetary moment particularly striking to me is that the signs these planets are moving through are the signs of identity, community, communication, and transformation. The sky is not asking us to go back. It is asking us, collectively and individually, to step forward into who we actually are.
So who does this affect?
For years, people have battled internally between what they were told to want and what they actually felt. Their mother’s expectations. Their father’s traditions. The weight of what will they think of me. For the first time, the collective energy is shifting toward personal sovereignty — toward detaching from generational expectations and moving into individual identity. Where you get to make decisions based on what you actually want. Where you get to say: I don’t want this. I want this. Where societal pressure loosens its grip and the choice, for the first time, becomes yours.
If you are a woman who contemplates her relationship every day. Who is confused about what life she actually wants. Who for some reason is not as excited about having children as everyone around her seems to be. Who thinks about marriage and feels more trapped than free. This era is for you.
Every story I have followed — every person who made a decision they never thought they would make — had one thing in common. They shared their story in fear and in tears. And then they kept going. And a year later, almost without exception, they showed us that the universe rewards alignment. That was the point of the hard decision. For the first time in their lives, they learned how to choose themselves. And if the other person didn’t agree, they weren’t staying. And they weren’t apologizing.
You want a childless marriage — go build it. You want to travel instead of being rooted in one place — go live it. You want a non-traditional relationship structure — go find it. You want to raise a family in the city — do it. Whatever it is — do it, and then share it. Share it because you already know the criticism is coming. And the criticism is how you know the shift is working. The discomfort you see in other people when you choose yourself is their own unresolved fear meeting your freedom. Let them deal with it. That’s not your work anymore.
And while I want to be clear this is not solely a women’s movement — when I say the rise of collective feminine energy, I mean something specific. Both men and women carry masculine and feminine energies. Usually one is more dormant than the other. What this shift is activating is the dormant feminine energy in men alongside the rising masculine energy in women — a rebalancing that has been building for decades and is now, under this planetary configuration, reaching a tipping point.
We are already starting to see it. More men who are not ashamed to say I am a father, not a babysitter. Men who want to be emotionally available, who are nurturing, who take care of their homes and bodies and don’t see that as a diminishment of who they are. More relationships that appear mismatched on the surface but are energetically balanced underneath. More people seeking love over status, depth over performance, truth over tradition.
The male loneliness epidemic that we hear about — it is real, and it is also part of this same story. Men who find themselves alone, living independently of family structures for the first time, are unknowingly learning what women have always known: how to take care of yourself, your space, your body, your inner world. That is not weakness. That is feminine energy doing its work. And it is necessary. Because a man who doesn’t know how to show up for himself cannot fully show up for anyone else.
If you are a man reading this — this shift is not against you. It is an invitation to you.
How many times have you sat with something you needed to say and swallowed it? How many times have you stayed in a situation — a job, a relationship, a version of yourself — because the alternative felt like too much to risk? That internal accumulation doesn’t disappear. It stores. It compresses. And eventually it needs somewhere to go.
This is the moment it has somewhere to go.
That quiet movement of women changing the trajectory of their lives — crossing fear barriers, transforming in public, one story at a time — was the beginning of a frequency shift that is now, with this planetary alignment, amplifying across the collective. More people choosing self-worth raises the vibration for everyone. It doesn’t just change individual lives. It changes what we collectively believe is possible.
The silence is being heard now. And it will only get louder.
